
The suspects broke the main building’s window to enter the armory, according to the authorities. They cut up the steel rifle box inside the armory and grabbed the rifles and many rounds out of it. In order to identify the offenders, authorities have questioned some of the base’s personnel.
According to reports, a group of alleged robbers sneaked into a police station in Homa Bay and stole the officers’ weapons.
As per a report filed at Mbita Police Station under OB number 04/17/11/2022, the thieves raided the Kipasi patrol base on the evening of Wednesday, November 16.
Armoury broken into According to police, the suspects gained entry after cutting the rear window of the main building that houses the post’s armoury .
Inside the armoury, they cut the steel rifle box and took hold of the firearms and several rounds therein. Following their preliminary investigations, the police established that the suspects stole the following rifle; G3 (s/n A3 6699056), G3 (s/n 6593403), G3 FMP (s/n 402994) and AK-47 (s/n 4913650). Also stolen were 80 rounds of 7.62 mm and 30 rounds of 7.62 mm special. The scene has since been processed by the detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), with the officers manning the post currently undergoing interrogation.
This came close to a week after a man pleaded guilty to intruding on a military base before making away with a gun stand and car door.
