Eric Kiptoo Kipsang, a key suspect in the murder of a 12-year-old boy at Kapsoya in Eldoret town was pronounced dead on Sunday morning.

Confirming the incident, Ainabkoi OCPD Alois Muthoka, said Kiptoo died at the hospital where he was receiving treatment after complaining of chest pains.
Muthoka said the suspect was arrested while attempting suicide at a nearby dam, and appeared to be under influence of drugs.

“The suspect arrived at the police station with significant wounds to both hands. In the home where the murder took place, blood-stained garments were found. Both a cushion and a basin were found to be covered with blood. The individual allegedly had some mental health issues, according to the family,” stated Muthoka.
Linda Jemutai, the mother of the 12-year-old boy said that she received reports on the death of a boy and when she went to the morgue, she found it was her son.

The mother is now looking for justice while DCI Eldoret East looks into the situation more thoroughly.
Police were notified that a car had abandoned the boy’s body at Chepkoilel Road on March 23.
