Two men were arrested in Kasarani on Sunday night after allegedly pushing a woman from the second floor of an apartment building, leaving her badly injured.
Mr. Collins Kiptoo, an employee of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), and his cousin, Mr. Ian Kipkorir, a student at the University of Nairobi, are currently in custody at Kasarani Police Station.
Following an altercation with her partner, Mr. Kiptoo, Ms. Cynthia Mboya, 26, fell from the second floor of the Q flats in Clay City where the incident took place. Police suspect Ms. Mboya was shoved, and they are looking into the matter.
The event was reported to the police by a citizen, and when police officers got on the scene, they discovered that Ms. Mboya had already been saved by neighbors and transferred to Neema Uhai Hospital, where she is reportedly undergoing treatment and is in fair health.
When Ms. Mboya accused Mr. Kiptoo of having a second relationship, the detective in charge of the case claimed that a fight broke out between the three of them.
The argument escalated, and the lady broke the boyfriend’s television set, leading to an angry exchange between the three, eventually resulting in her falling from the second floor.
Mr. Kiptoo and Mr. Kipkorir were arrested and taken into custody awaiting further action. They are set to appear in court on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, where the prosecution team will seek to keep them in custody for 14 days as investigations continue.
Ms. Mboya is also expected to record a statement with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) team.
Meanwhile, police in the same station are also investigating another incident where the body of Mr. Walter Odhiambo Sala, 51, was found dumped beside a road at Roasters area in Garden Estate, Nairobi County.
The man was lying on his back, with blood oozing from a deep cut on the back of his head.
“Initial investigations indicates that the said body was dump or dropped on the road, the trouser and shoes had traces of mud,” a report seen by Nairobi News read in part.
Three identity cards belonging to Ms. Beatrice Esther Atieno, Mr. Vitalis Sala Kisera, and Ms. Fransister Auma Sala were found in his pocket.
Initial investigations suggest that the body was dumped or dropped on the road, and the trousers and shoes had traces of mud.
The scene was processed, and the body was taken to Nairobi City Morgue for an autopsy.
