After the photo went viral, former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko graciously offered to support the student by paying her school fees and providing other basic necessities.

In the latest update, Pancras Karema, CEO of Expeditions Maasai Safaris, issued a statement expressing his intention to make a gift to a teacher.

He emphasised the significant impact that acts of kindness, such as those demonstrated by Mrs Sempela, have on shaping a child’s life.

“I am a firm believer in recognising and honouring acts of kindness. That is why I am asking for your help in locating Madam Joyce,” he said, adding that he would give her a free holiday.

The CEO also mentioned the importance of a collective effort by the public to show appreciation for her remarkable selflessness and unwavering commitment to her students.

In an earlier interview with Nairobi News, teacher Joyce Sempela Malit expressed unbridled joy and happiness and praised God when she learned of Mike Sonko’s generous offer to donate to the young girl.

Teacher Malit revealed that she always carries a sewing kit in her purse and is always ready to mend students’ torn uniforms when the need arises.

She said the school has about 300 students and appealed to kind-hearted individuals to help provide the students with their basic and educational needs so that they can stay in school.
