Melvin and Anerlisa started dating after she divorced Tanzanian singer Ben Pole.
Melvin runs Apex Automotive, a car dealership based in Nairobi.
The dealership imports vehicles from Japan, Great Britain, South Africa and Australia and also buys and sells used cars locally.
The engagement ceremony was held at Anerlisa’s parents’ home in Naivasha.
It was attended by who’s who on the political scene.
Anerlisa’s engagement comes three years after her publicized divorce from Tanzanian musician Ben Pole in 2021.
Notables who graced the occasion included nominated Senators Tabitha Mutinda, Esther Okenyuri and Hamid Kibwana who showed off their elegance in stylish ensembles.
Senator Mutinda took to social media to share glimpses of the great event.
“What a way to pass the time over the weekend attending Senator Tabitha Karanji’s daughter Anerlisa Muigai’s marriage proposal,” she wrote.
