Arsenal could face Manchester City on Sunday evening in what could be a Premier League title race.
Former Arsenal and Manchester City player Gael Clichy has urged Mikel Arteta to ensure his side attack from the start to maximize their chances at the Etihad Stadium.
The Gunners travel to face Pep Guardiola’s men on Sunday night, knowing the result could dramatically change the title race. Arsenal lead the Premier League table, but City are just one point behind Liverpool in third.
Some may want to sit behind the ball and play a point in Arsenal’s position. But Clichy told Super 6 this weekend that was unlikely.
“Arsenal cannot lose on Sunday,” said the Frenchman. “The draw will still put them ahead of City, but we’re not sure the points are enough against a team like City.”
“You want Arsenal to go and get three points because even if it’s five points at this point in the season, it’s not a guarantee of anything.” Despite his advice for Arsenal, Clichy supported City to win 1-0.
Ahead of the trip to the North West, Arteta will look at the fitness of Bukayo Saka. The winger left England’s training camp as a reserve last week, but it is unclear whether he will be ready to start against Guardiola’s men.
