Saidi used to work as a driver to provide for his family, but in 2010, he was struck by a strange illness that incapacitated him.
According to his wife, Zamuda, Saidi’s health condition started as a joke by not being able to defecate for hours, days, weeks, months, and now it’s been 13 years without him passing stool.
“My name is Rwakagambo Saidi, I have spent 13 years without visiting the toilet. In other words, I have never been able to defecate despite eating every day like everyone else, but when it comes to passing stool, I only pass urine,” Saidi told the Afromax blog.

Saidi explained that he got the illness in early 2010 and began a journey to visit various health centers, but all tests failed to diagnose any disease.
He said that despite not showing any symptoms of any illness, he felt pain, body fatigue, and unexplainable symptoms.
Saidi did not lose hope; he sought other remedies from traditional healers, but those efforts also proved futile.
“I was a driver before; I worked to feed my family, and everything was fine until I got this sudden illness. I started spending a long time without passing stool, it turned into days, and now it’s been 13 years,” he said.
His wife, who is a mother of four children, said she took him to various hospitals, but to no avail, saying that some doctors told her it was just hunger.
“The doctors told me it’s just hunger, and he needs to eat,” Zamuda said.
“The neighbors used to help us at first, but the illness took a long time to heal, so they stopped their assistance. I can’t blame them; I know it’s very difficult to help someone every day for 13 years,” Saidi added.
Now, the man has been lying on a mat, exposed and sheltered from the sun to shade for all that time, holding onto a faint hope of one day returning to his normal condition.
According to the Cleveland Clinic, a person who cannot defecate may suffer from fecal impaction after the digestive system fails to function.
