Meet the new curvy CEO of Kenya Tourism Board

June Chepkemei is the CEO of the Tourism Board. He was appointed by President Ruto’s government.
She was the former Executive Director of the Kenya Investment Authority (KENINVEST).
Before joining KENINVEST, she was the Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA).
She was also the coordinator of the Kenya Advance Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) project, which is being developed by the Ministry of ICT and Digital Economy in collaboration with the Ministry of Education (MoE).
She pioneered the Konza Innovation Ecosystem Initiative, which brings together stakeholders to support the commercialization of research, innovation and business solutions. The International Association of Science Parks and Innovation Areas (IASP) chose the initiative as the 3rd most inspiring solution.
Prior to joining KoTDA, June was a Communications Business Partner at Safaricom Limited and worked in the media industry for 6 years.
She was appointed to the Taskforce on the Kenya Media Policy Guidelines and was named among the Top 25 Women in Digital 2021.
She holds an MA in Communication Studies from Moi University, a BA in PR and Communications, a Post Graduate Diploma in Professional Marketing from The Chartered Institute Of Marketing UK and an Innovation Executive Training Program from the Stanford Center for Professional Development.
she is currently studying for a Ph.D. in Information Science. She is a chartered marketer of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) in the UK and a member of the Public Relations Society of Kenya.
In 2022, June successfully led the Kenyan team in a fruitful effort to host the 41st International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP) World Conference scheduled for 2024.
She was also part of the team tasked with delivering technology and innovation to Jamhuri in 2022.
