How Moi University bus accident happened The bus, which had students on board en route to Mombasa for an academic trip, crashed at the Kimende area near Limuru on Wednesday, March 27.
Preliminary reports indicate the driver was trying to overtake, but while getting back on the road, he lost control, causing the bus to veer off the road and land in a ditch.
From the videos and photos shared online by Kenyans, locals could be seen at the scene rescuing the students and driver before police and other emergency personnel arrived.
By the time of publishing this story, no casualties had been reported, but students who were on board sustained minor injuries.
Police officers arrived at the scene to lead the rescue mission and control the traffic on the busy highway.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident as injured students receive treatment at nearby hospitals.
