Tragic Loss: Machakos Family Mourns Daughter’s Brutal Murder

The ordeal began when the Musembi family received a distressing call from an unidentified individual, demanding a ransom of Ksh 20,000 for Faith’s release. Acting swiftly to safeguard their daughter’s life, Faith’s mother wired the ransom while her father rushed to Thika in a desperate attempt to locate her.
Despite reporting the matter to Thika Police Station upon his arrival, the distraught father was met with skepticism from law enforcement officers, who dismissed the incident as a ploy for money common among university students. Undeterred, he proceeded to Mt Kenya University, only to find that Faith had not returned since the previous night.
Upon reaching her rented apartment, the father’s worst fears were realized as he discovered Faith’s lifeless body, a victim of senseless violence. The scene was a harrowing sight, with Faith’s uncle later revealing the chilling exchange on WhatsApp, where the perpetrators demanded an additional ransom under threat of Faith’s demise.
Further correspondence with the assailants confirmed the grim reality: Faith had already been brutally murdered. An autopsy conducted at Thika General Kago Funeral Home revealed the cause of death as excessive bleeding due to the detachment of placenta, shedding light on the tragic circumstances surrounding Faith’s untimely passing.
