Tragic Accident on Gilgil-Naivasha Road Claims Five Lives

A Heartbreaking Incident Leaves 19 Injured

Tragedy struck on the Gilgil-Naivasha road in Kenya, as five people lost their lives in a devastating accident that occurred at around 7:30 pm in the Kigio area. According to the police report, the incident involved three matatus (public service vehicles) from Narok Line Services, Mau Narok Sacco, and Ennus Matatu Sacco.

The Cause of the Accident

The police report indicates that one of the vehicles was towing another from Naivasha towards Gilgil when the accident occurred. The oncoming matatu had attempted to overtake a fleet of vehicles but failed to return to its lane in time, causing the driver to lose control and the vehicle to roll several times.

The Victims

The tragic accident claimed the lives of five individuals, including two men, a woman, a boy, and a girl. Their bodies have been taken to the Gilgil Sub County Hospital mortuary.

The Injured

In addition to the fatalities, the accident left at least 19 others injured. They are currently receiving treatment at the Naivasha Sub County Hospital.
