Willy Paul breaks his silence after being released from police custody

Famous musician Willy Paul has finally been released from police custody following his dramatic arrest on Monday 4th March.

Taking to his Instagram page, the ‘Njiwa’ singer thanked his fans for their support during the trying times.

“I just want to say I’m grateful for the support.

I’m humbled. I’m home safe and sound. God bless you,” Willy Paul said in a video shared on Instagram Monday night.

“I was told that Syotani Villas police officers are waiting for me outside my house and they say I hit someone and run, they want to kill me!!!.

The same thing happened last year.

If anything happens to me mjue ni watu wamevaa uniform and right now they are outside my house,” the singer wrote on Monday.

However,

it has since emerged that the controversial artiste was arrested after failing to comply with a summons related to a cyberbullying complaint filed by Diana Bahati, wife of musician Kelvin Kioko aka Bahati.

Caroline Giseve, a lawyer representing musician Diana Bahati, told reporters on Monday that Willy Paul was arrested on allegations of cyberbullying.

“An investigation was conducted and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions authorized the arrest of Willy Paul,” Giseve said. ”

“Despite numerous summonses, Willy Paul failed to appear, leading to his arrest on Monday morning,” she added.

Diana Bahati and Willy Paul have not seen eye to eye since the former accused the artist of rape allegations in 2021.

Before Willy’s charges, Paul sensationally claimed he was once in a romantic relationship with Bahati’s wife, escalating the beef between him and the family.
