Officer Searching For Girlfriend In Kisumu Lodging Lobs Teargas After He Was Denied Access

Police in Kisumu East Sub-County are investigating an incident where a police officer is reported to have lobbed a teargas canister in a nightclub on Monday night.
The officer based at Kasagam police station is said to have earlier also lobbed another canister within a hotel compound in the Nyamasaria area.
According to a police report, the officer had at 3 am stormed a lodging, claiming that his girlfriend had walked in there with another man.
He was denied access and immediately lobbed teargas before taking off on a motorcycle.
The officer later went to the nightclub along the Kisumu-Nairobi highway and lobbed another canister but was captured by members of the public.
The mob attacked him and he was rushed to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital where he is nursing injuries.
