Police in Homa Bay County are looking for a Bishop accused of burning a human skull at Lwanda Nyamasare beach, Kasgunga East Sub Location within Suba North constituency last evening.

The cleric who has since gone into hiding led his church members to the beach where he claimed he was directed by God to retrieve a human skull in the waters of Lake Victoria within Lwanda Nyamasare beach before burning it immediately after the retrieval.

According to a police report seen by Wakenyaleo.co.ke , the bishop had been invited for Easter prayers at a local church in Gembe West Location on Saturday.

During his stay at the church, the bishop claimed to have had a vision during prayers to find a skull in the waters of Lake Victoria. He told his congregation about the vision and convinced them to follow him to the lake where he retrieved the human skull from the water.

According to Kasgunga East Sub-Location Assistant Chief Francis Kasuku, the matter was reported to him by Lwanda Nyamasare Beach chairperson Michael Aroko after the bishop and his congregation started burning the skull at the beach.

The administrator informed the police but by the time the officers arrived at the beach, the bishop had disappeared to an unknown place and efforts to trace him were not successful.

In the investigation process, police officers from Mbita Police Station took the skull to Homa Bay County Teaching and Referral Hospital where the morticians confirmed it was a human skull.

The skull was kept at the mortuary awaiting forensic analysis.
