
Renowned Kenyan athlete Eliud Kipchoge on Monday, April 17, finished sixth in the 2023 Boston Marathon.
Kipchoge, who led a pack of 11 athletes to break away, dropped back after 25 kilometres. He clocked a time of 2:09:23.
2022 Defending Champion Evans Chebet bagged the gold medal after completing the race at 2:05:54.
Tanzanian Gabriel Geay (2:06:04) and Benson Kipruto finished second and third respectively.
Chebet will take home Ksh20.2 million ($150,000) for winning the race. He became the sixth male athlete in history to defend his Boston Marathon title back to back
