“I’m Kenyan Diamond Platnumz, Wasanii Waimbe Ngoma ka Zangu,” Stivo Simple Boy Now Says
Kenyan rapper Stephen Otieno Adera alias Stivo Simple Boy has come out to claim that Kenyans compare him to Tanzania’s singer Diamond Platnumz.
Speaking to YouTuber 2mbili, the ‘Mihadarati’ crooner revealed that he gets likened to Diamond because of how fast he releases hit after hit in a short span of time.
“Najua Wakenya na watu wengine walikuwa wanasema eti mimi ni Diamond wa Kenya. Kwa hiyo mimi nilikuwa nasema hizo zikitulia naachilia ngoma, unaona,” he said.
While boasting about his prowess in the music scene, the rapper noted that Kenyan musicians are producing songs that do not make ‘sense’ citing that they need to work hard as he does.
The internet sensation further claimed that his style of music and that of top artists like him is very different compared to the Kenyan musicians who only sing songs that do not conform to society’s virtues.
He advised Kenyan musicians to create good music that does not promote moral decadence in society as they wield influence over their audience.
“Wasanii wa Kenya watie bidii waache kuimba ngoma ambazo hazileti shangwe, waimbe ngoma ambazo zinamake sense. Wasanii sisi tunajituma zaidi, ukiangalia mimi kwa staili yangu na wasanii wengine tuko tofauti. Mimi sana sana napenda kuhimiza jamii ambayo ni kuwapatia ujumbe, siimbi ngoma za kupotosha watu,” he urged.
He went further to say that not everyone wants to listen to secular songs and party songs urging musicians to sing songs that can be listened to by the whole family.
“Unajua si kila mtu huwa anataka kusikiliza ngoma za hepi moments za kusisimua mwili hapana, mle ndani kuna wazee, kuna wale watu wazima, imbeni ngoma ambayo hata ukiwa pale kwa nyumba unaweza kusikiliza hata na mzazi,” he added.
Stivo Simple’s request to ex-management
Stivo Simple Boy, who days ago threatened to sue his former management for withholding his social media accounts, also revealed that the management is yet to respond and return his pages.
In the 2-hour video, the ‘Freshi Barida’ hitmaker requested the management to take the revenue generated by the songs on his channel and return the account to him so he can start over.
“Mimi ningependa kuomba hizo ngoma ambazo ziko kwa hiyo chaneli wachukue revenue lakini waniachie akaunti. Uongozi ndio ulinifungulia chaneli hiyo wakasema kama kuna makosa ambayo yatatokea watanipatia akaunti hiyo,” Stevo opened.
The rapper also revealed that he plans to fully manage himself so as to avoid such issues in the future.
“Unajua mameneja wanakuja kwa upole halafu hapo katikati wanakuja kugeuka. Kwa hiyo nikasema acha nikae peke yangu ndio nione. Kama sitakuwa vizuri wakati mwingine nitahitaji meneja,” he revealed.
