The surroundings of the grave are adorned with various pictures, including images of himself in military uniform and photographs of Tanzanian presidents, among others, creating a unique ambiance around the burial site.

Additionally, he affixed a banner on one wall, displaying the various ranks he had held during his service as a public servant – a police officer.

However, one may wonder why this retired officer decided to build his grave while he is still alive. Is it an eccentricity?

Mr. Sabasita revealed that he is of sound mind and has not lost his mental faculties.

Instead, he explained that this act was a way for him to plan for his future and avoid the difficulties he witnessed during the funerals of his late parents, who passed away and were buried with much difficulty.

“I have undertaken this endeavor while I am still in good health and have some resources at my disposal. I am doing this to preempt the hardships I observed when my parents passed away in 1995. I am also doing this to reduce the financial burden on my family and to remind people that death is inevitable. As we age, our time on this earth decreases every day,” stated Mr. Sabasita.

He further disclosed that, to date, he has spent nearly seven million Tanzanian shillings on the construction of the grave and is in the final stages of preparing his coffin, which is estimated to cost an additional three million shillings.

Mr. Sabasita clarified that apart from the grave and coffin, he has not made any other preparations for his eventual passing. However, he mentioned that his will is currently being prepared by legal experts.
