Embarambamba has apologized after being sanctioned by the Kenya Film and Classification Board

"I beg naomba aloha, kwa sababu ile barua mmeniwekea kwa mkono wangu ni dhawa

Controversial gospel singer Chris Mosioma, popularly known as Embarambamba,

has apologized after being sanctioned by the Kenya Film and Classification Board (KFCB) for what the body described as obscene content damaging to the moral fabric of society.

In a short video shared on his social media platforms, Embarambamba pleaded with KFCB not to take any action against him, saying his children will suffer if his content is removed from online platforms.

The singer said he only relies on his content as an income which he in turn uses to support his family and KFCB’s latest move will put them in misery.

“I beg naomba aloha, kwa sababu ile barua mmeniwekea kwa mkono wangu ni dhawa. Najua bianadamu aliyezaliwa na mwanka hawezi kosa makosa. Nawaomba aloha,”

pleaded Embarambamba.

He also asked Kenyans for forgiveness, saying anyone offended by his songs and content should find it in their hearts to forgive him.

“Mimi nilijua nafanya hizi nyimbo za Mungu watoto wangu wasome, wakule vizuri na mimi nikae vizuri kwa maisha yangu. Lakini Wakenya, sina maheda,” he added.

Embarambamba further admitted that what he is doing online is not right and said he looks forward to changing his content to reflect societal expectations.

“Mngeniskiza. Kuliko nidelete nyimbo zangu kutoka Youtube, mnibakishie kidogo or nisomeshe watoto wangu na wapate kitu ya kukula. 6.4 million views yote jamani?” Embarambamba continued to plead.

This was after KFCB sanctioned Embarambamba along with another artiste identified as Getumbe over their controversial gospel songs.

The KFCB has ordered the removal of all tracks by the two artistes from YouTube and social media platforms.

They were further banned from making lewd songs in the name of gospel music.
