“From Maternity Leave to Serving the Nation: Wamae’s Inspiring Story”
A Moment of Reflection
As I sit here, cradling my newborn in my arms, I can’t help but feel a sense of both joy and responsibility. This is a time of transition, a time to nurture a new life while also considering the role I can play in shaping the future of our nation.
Wamae Declines Ruto’s Taskforce Offer
It was with both humility and gratitude that I received the call from President Ruto, offering me a position on the 20-member Human Resources for Health (HRH) taskforce. As I contemplated this opportunity, I knew that my current state would significantly impact my ability to contribute effectively.
Recognizing Strength and Ability
In a display of remarkable leadership, President Ruto recognized the strength and ability that I possess. I am honored to have been considered for this important role, and I thank him for the opportunity. However, I have decided to respectfully decline the offer, as my primary focus at this time must be on the wellbeing of my family and the new life I have been entrusted with.
A Commitment to Serve
While I may not be able to contribute directly to the HRH taskforce at this moment, I remain steadfast in my commitment to serving our nation. I believe that the experiences and insights I have gained during this time of maternity leave will only serve to strengthen my resolve and deepen my understanding of the challenges faced by families and healthcare professionals alike.
As I embark on this new chapter of my life, I am filled with a renewed sense of purpose. I know that the work of the HRH taskforce is vital, and I look forward to the day when I can once again lend my voice and expertise to the pursuit of a better healthcare system for all Kenyans. Until then, I will cherish this precious time with my family, drawing strength and inspiration from the journey ahead.
