Meta, the parent company of social media giants Instagram and Facebook, faced widespread outages on Tuesday that left millions of users unable to access their accounts.
The outage affected not only Instagram and Facebook, but also related platforms such as Messenger and Threads, causing frustration among users around the world.
Meta’s response to outages
Meta quickly acknowledged the issues and assured users that they are actively working to fix the problem.
In a statement shared on X by Meta spokesperson Andy Stone, the company expressed awareness of the difficulties users are facing and confirmed that their team is diligently addressing the issue.
“We’re aware that people are having trouble accessing our services.
We’re working on it now,” Meta spokesman Andy Stone said.
Instagram, Facebook, Meta, Messenger are not working
Users began experiencing outages around 8:56 p.m.,
with many having difficulty loading content into their feeds, logging into their accounts, and uploading new content.
London-based internet monitoring firm Netblocks confirmed that Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Threads were among the Meta platforms that experienced login-related outages in various countries.

In a moment of light banter, Elon Musk, CEO of X, formerly known as Twitter, took the opportunity to make a humorous comment on the situation.
Musk’s tweet, posted shortly after the Meta service outage, jokingly noted that if users saw his post, it meant their servers were working properly.
