In a press conference held on Friday, March 29, Buri West Sub-County Police Commander James Musiimi said they received tips from members of the public about the incident at the church.

Musiimi said they visited the facility where the girls were rescued with the help of the district director of child services.

“We visited the facility as a security team from Buri Kulon where we found that there were 10 minors in custody and it was suspected that the rights of these young children would be violated.

He revealed that the children had been in what he described as “a lot of hostels” since 2016.
