Raila Odinga’s Elder Sister, Beryl Achieng, Passes Away
The Odinga family is mourning the loss of Beryl Achieng, the elder sister to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. The sad news was announced on Tuesday, November 25, by Raila’s younger sister, Ruth Odinga.
“It is with a heavy heart, but accepting the will of God, we announce the sudden passing of Beryl Achieng Odinga. Daughter of the Late Hon Jaramogi Odinga and Mama Mary Ajuma Oginga. Mother to Ami Auma, Chizi and Taurus,” Ruth announced.
“While we are deeply saddened by her demise and the immense void left in our lives, we take solace in the belief that she is safe in the Lord’s arms and are thankful for the invaluable gift of the time we were privileged to share,” she added.
According to Ruth, Beryl passed away earlier in the day, though the family did not reveal the cause of death. The Odinga family is known for keeping certain matters private, and they have asked for space as they come to terms with the loss.
Beryl Achieng has been described as a warm, supportive, and respected figure within the family and the wider community. Messages of condolence continue to pour in from leaders and Kenyans across the country.
