Deputy Principal of St.Cecilia Misikhu dies mysteriously after attending a school function

Police Arrest Woman Over Deputy Principal’s Mystery Death in Webuye,Bungoma county KENYA, Detectives in Bungoma County have launched a homicide investigation and detained a 28-year-old woman following the mysterious death of Caleb Wekesa Nakhisa, the deputy principal of St. Cecilia Misikhu Girls Secondary School.
The senior educator tragically collapsed and died in a local hotel room in Webuye Constituency early Sunday morning, shortly after attending an official school function.
Timeline of the Incident
According to a police report filed at the Webuye Police Station under OB No. 02/24/05/2026, Nakhisa had spent Saturday evening, May 23, 2026, accompanied by the suspect at various entertainment establishments within Webuye town.
11:00 PM:The couple left the entertainment joint and checked into the Satellite Hotel to spend the night.
12:20 AM (Sunday):Nakhisa suddenly began complaining of feeling unwell and abruptly collapsed in the hotel room.
12:30 AM – 3:00 AM:Hotel staff, alongside the female companion, rushed Nakhisa to Calvary Hospital in Webuye. He was quickly referred to the Webuye Sub-County Hospital, where medical staff pronounced him dead roughly 10 minutes after arrival.
Investigation and Forensic Autopsy
Police officers from the Matulo Police Post alongside detectives from the Sub-County Criminal Investigations Office (SCCIO) immediately processed the hotel room, documenting evidence and treating the establishment as a crime scene.
A preliminary postmortem examination has raised further questions for investigators. Family members present during the briefing noted that while the initial physical indicator pointed toward a cardiac arrest, unusual pathology reports including black blood oozing from the body have prompted deeper medical scrutiny.
“We want investigations completed so that the family can know exactly what happened,” a representative of the Nakhisa family told reporters outside the morgue.
Current Status
The 28-year-old woman remains in police custody at this hour. Authorities have clarified that she is currently being held to assist detectives in reconstructing the timeline of Nakhisa’s final hours.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is currently awaiting official toxicology reports and comprehensive forensic results to determine if foul play or poisoning was involved before filing any formal charges.
The administration of St. Cecilia Misikhu Girls Secondary School has yet to release an official statement regarding the untimely demise of their deputy principal.
